Geography Games and Virtual Field Trips
Lesson Worlds offers geography practice through Worldspin, the Rain Ridge planet and educator-led virtual field trips. Worldspin suggests Grades 4–10. Frank Romo’s field-trip collection includes map and city exploration activities with Grade 6+ guidance on individual activities.

Choose the activity for your learning goal
Use Worldspin for locating continents, countries and cities. In Rain Ridge, read the land and choose where a town can live. Compare the two: knowing a place name and explaining why people might settle there are different geography tasks.
Learn with Frank Romo
Frank Romo is CEO at RomoGIS and founder of GIS For Good. His Lesson Worlds collection connects map skills and place-based learning with city exploration and flight-based field trips. Read the guidance for each activity before using it with a younger learner; featured educator field trips remain free.
Turn exploration into a discussion
Before the trip, locate the destination on a map and choose one question. During exploration, look for evidence such as streets, waterways or settlement patterns. Afterwards, ask the learner to sketch a route and explain what they noticed. Compare their observations with a map or trusted geographic source.
